Mt. Haguro Cedar Avenue (National Special Natural Monument)
The towering cedar trees lining the stone steps from Zuishin-mon Gate were planted under the leadership of the 50th head priest, Tenyu-Betto, as part of the effort to establish the stone path along the pilgrimage route. It is said that creating the current landscape required careful planning and substantial financial resources. The Aki-no-Mine-iri Training, held annually for a week in late August, also passes through this sacred avenue.

A traditional ”Shime” handed down at Sanadaenmeiin

The ”Shime” is a sacred cord unique to the Dewa Sanzan pilgrimage. Worn over the shoulder, it is used to purify oneself, create a spiritual boundary, and ward off negative forces.
